What is Gist?

Gist is a functional beverage containing prebiotics that help nudge the body back into equilibrium by supporting a balanced microbiome. Every can of Gist contains 4g of plant-based fiber, and no added sugar or sweeteners to keep your gut happy and your body humming along smoothly. Our unique blends of botanicals and plant-based prebiotic fiber are carefully selected to work symbiotically to keep your body in balance.

What makes Gist good for me?

Food and drink play an important role in your overall digestive health. Gist provides 4g of prebiotics to feed your intestinal flora or good bacteria. Your gut (and brain) will thank you!

Does Gist have caffeine?

Our Oolong with calendula flavor contains 23mg of caffeine. The other Gist flavors do not contain any caffeine and may be enjoyed at any time of the day for a pick-me-up, wind down, or something in between.

What is the difference between PREbiotic and PRObiotic?

Probiotics are good bacteria that live in our digestive system, aiding health function and digestion. Scientists estimate more than half of the cells in a human body are bacteria. Healthy habits begin with a balanced microbiome. That is where prebiotics come in. Prebiotics provide essential nutrients to feed probiotic bacteria in the gut, helping them stimulate healing and combat bad bacteria overgrowth. Gist contains 4g of prebiotics in the form of Jerusalem artichokes in every can. That is about 14% of your recommended daily fiber intake!

Are you certified organic?

Not yet, but we are working on it! In the meantime, fall in love knowing all of the ingredients we use are certified organic, and then get that added boost of reassurance when our label reflects our organic certification.

How is there fiber in a drink?

The fiber in Gist comes from Jerusalem artichoke inulin, a type of naturally occurring polysaccharide. 

What ingredients are in Gist?

Gist’s ingredients are as simple as this: two botanicals combined with Jerusalem artichoke inulin, a touch of lime juice, and sparkling water (for the full ingredients list, see the product listings).

We at Gist are redefining what a clean drink means. Not only do we believe in keeping it simple (you will find only five ingredients listed on the back of each can), but you will also never find gluten; GMOs; pesticides; or artificial sweeteners, coloring, or flavor in our products. Are there any sweeteners in Gist?

Gist contains no added sugar or artificial sweeteners of any kind. Studies show sugar alcohols and alternative sweeteners found in so many products claiming to be “clean label” can actually cause digestive issues. And, if you ask us, they taste weird. We have kept it as simple as it can be so Gist can be enjoyed with zero worry and lots of peace of mind.

Should Gist be refrigerated?

Gist may be stored without refrigeration. For optimal flavor and benefits, we recommend refrigeration to prevent the prebiotics from losing effectiveness.

Is it okay to drink Gist if I am pregnant or nursing?

We encourage you to seek the advice of a trusted health care provider or nutritionist when making any dietary decisions.

What is your production process?

Gist is made with a cold-brew process that maximizes the benefits and flavors of the herbs in our blends. No extracts here. All of our blends get their flavor from the innate goodness of the ingredients.

Does Gist contain allergens?

Gist is free from the eight major food allergens (soy, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, eggs, fish, shellfish). We encourage you to please carefully consider our ingredient labels prior to purchase to be certain our recipes are right for you.

What are your shipping and return policies?

Gist offers free shipping on all orders over $35 and flat-rate $10 shipping on all other orders. If you have any questions about shipping, or if you have a damaged shipment, please contact us at hello@drinkgist.com so we can make things right.

Do you offer samples, coupons, stickers?
